Testing non-Beta blogger commenting on Blogger Beta blogs.

There have been many complaints of non-Blogger Beta bloggers being unable to comment on Blogger Beta blogs and vice versa, if anonymous comments are disabled. According to Known Issues for Blogger in Beta blog, that has been fixed. So I am going to test commenting on this post using a non-beta Blogger account and see if the comment gets through.

Update: The comment went through. So that bug has been fixed. There are many blogger who have expressed their unhappiness with Blogger Beta. I suppose we just need a little patience. The bugs are being fixed.

There had been another update to the Known Issues blog that Blogger Beta bloggers can also comment on Blogger classic blogs by signing into their Google account. I have to test this. I went to How to ban a person from your blog or Website and made a comment there with this account. The comment went through. So all is well.

So for those making complaints about Blogger Beta blogs, I hope this is some consolation. The bugs are being worked out. I supposed we just need a bit of patience.

UPDATE 23 October 2006: There are still many complaints that beta bloggers are not able to comment on classic blogs and vice versa at the Google Blogger Help group. Looks like this is still a problem for some. Someone commented that clearing the cache helps. Hope that works for everyone. Otherwise, it looks like there is still something that Blogger still need to work on based on all those posts.

I am signed in as a Blogger classic account now. If this comment gets through, then it proves that what is described in the post is correct.

I'm still using the old blogger (Classic? Hmmm...) and I'm wondering if I should bother switching over.

I hate the new Blogger Beta! I wish I could switch back.

Hi Wesley Bronez,

I am sorry the title was wrongly written as "Testing non-Beta blogger POSTING on Blogger Beta blogs". I have edited it to read correctly "Testing non-Beta blogger COMMENTING on Blogger Beta blogs". I have also put an update there. Perhaps that update may give you some consolation.

I'm in no way against people switching to Beta if they want to. I just wish there were a way for me to switch my Blog back to the non-Beta Blogger.

I have signed up to beta and made a new blog, wonderfull!

Any way to put old blogs to the new? or will be still long time two different worlds?

After I showed to a new bloger the Beta features, he did not want at all to go back to use the old!

Blogger Employee has said that they are trying to migrate all Blogger classic blogs to beta in a matter of months, so if you have not been invited for those classic blogs, you may have to wait that long.

BTW, did you use a gmail address when you sign up for the classic blogs, and if so are they the same as the one you used for your new beta blog. If not, you may end up with 2 beta accounts. But I really don't know how it will all end up.

I'm really disappointed with the Beta version. I am unable to post comments to classic Blogs! I'm also unable to find the information to switch back.

Well my tests on Blogger beta bloggers commenting on Blogger classic blogs and vice versa had been successful, from what I read on the Blogger Help forum, there are still some who are having problems. I will have to put an update/footnote to my post.

Just testing if i can comment on non-beta blogs now..i wasn't able to do that yesterday..hope its resolved.

To Sacred Suzie, Sushithmn,

This is a Beta Blog and is moderated, so the posting of the comment is delayed, waiting for my moderation. So you both are testing beta bloggers commenting on beta blogs which is not a problem. You should try commenting on my non-beta blog Blogger Tips and Tricks

I've redesigned my template and the comments aren't showing or the links working. Am not even sure if anything else is wrong just yet.

Please help.

I switched over to beta blog and I can leave comments on non-beta blogs, but no one can leave comments on my blog. Argh! My settings are correct, and it still does not work. Any thoughts?

I don't know. All I know is that I used a Blogger classic account to post on the beta blog and it went through.

Maybe you should report your friend's commenting problems to Blogger support team. You may not get a reply, but at least they would know there are still problems. See post How to contact Blogger Support
